GEWLP has been working in South Sudan since May 2013


SSHIELD Project
South Sudan Higher Initiative for Education Leadership and Development. It was a 2-year master’s programme that was initiated in 2013 at University of Juba but ended up @ Indiana University after fighting broke up in December 2013. 14 female scholars completed successfully at Indiana

Master’s in Education Program
This is a follow up– on to the successful South Sudan Higher Education Initiative Leadership Development (SSHIELD), a two – year project that sponsored 14 South Sudanese women scholars in Master’s degree in Education at Indiana University (USA) with concentration on conflict transformation

VISTAS Support program
The Support to children in Protection of civilian sites student started in 2014 and the project ended in 2018. It created an atmosphere to children and women displace in POC as an alternative venue to continue reading as they were help to reduce tension by residing in POC.
Current Project
South Sudan Multi Year Emergency Activity. A Baseline Survey Research to assess household food security. Starting November 15, 2020, In partnership with Notre Dame University & Makerere University. Expected survey amount
